CA Judge Rules Against Sanctuaries

An Orange Country Superior court Judge ruled against California's state law which imposes sanctuary policies on charter cities in the state. A charter city is one run by a charter adopted by local voters. Judge James Crandall ruled that the state law overrides the local control provided by the charters. He noted that "The operation of a police department and its jail is a city affair. For the state to say one size fits all for policing isn't going to fit everyone." The ruling was specifically for Huntington Beach, it applies to all 121 charter cities in California.
