A recent Harvard-Harris poll offered the following information about illegal immigration into the United States: “Over 2.75 million came into the United States illegally over a twelve-month period ending September 2022. And more than 1.2 million have crossed since then.
“Given these numbers,” the poll continued, “should the administration continue its current policies or issue new stricter policies to reduce the flow of people coming across the border?”
Sixty-eight percent of Americans wanted stricter policies. Among them were 73 percent of independents. Forty-eight percent of Democrats said they support the current policies.
