Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones of Butler County, Ohio, held a press conference where he stated that the “ongoing border crisis” is not just a concern of border states. Since 2021, he noted that his jail has held a total of 999 illegal aliens. Incarcerating them has cost county taxpayers $1.8 million.
He further observed that “These people [illegal aliens] aren’t vetted, and they’re coming across and we have no idea who they are. I’ve said this before, it’s a crisis, it’s in our county. There’s 3,300 counties in the United States and 3,300 sheriffs; This is just one.”
