NYPD Fights with Illegals . . . Again

In January, as noted here, a couple of NYC cops were attacked by a gang of illegals, most of whom were quickly apprehended and then just as quickly let go without bail.

Last week, NYPD officers again were fighting illegals, this time at the Randall’s Island tent-city shelter. It happened on Thursday, February 15, when officials asked an unauthorized person to leave the facility. Tempers flew and that person was joined by various other shelter residents in a scuffle with several police officers. One person was arrested when it was all over, but the shelter continues to be a powder keg, growing more threatening by the day.

The Randall’s Island tent-city shelter holds about 3,000 illegal migrants, most of them single males. One resident — Dafren Canizalez, 35, nationality unknown — was knifed to death last month by a Venezuelan national named Moises Coronado, 27. The victim, like the perp, was found to have been carrying a knife, as do all residents, according to the NY Post.

Outside the official shelter, another, unauthorized tent city has been created by migrants who had been required to leave other shelters. In spite of official attempts to clear it, the unsanctioned shelter keeps getting re-constructed and has inspired a nearby makeshift marketplace, where illegals sell to other illegals $1 cups of coffee, cigarettes, hot chocolate, sneakers, jeans, and rolled marijuana joints. With cooking in city shelters banned, other migants have been seen by reporters using a nearby public restroom to prepare meals, “slicing raw meat on the men’s room sink next to the urinals and toilet stalls.”

Yeah, for many of its 170,000-or-so newcomers, New York City has turned out not to be exactly the land of milk and honey, but there’s always those $10,000 debit cards Mayor Adams wants to give out, sending you the bill.
