President Biden promised to halt construction of the border wall proposed by former President Trump. But the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) concedes that money authorized by Congress for the wall must be spent for that purpose. In keeping with Biden’s policy, however, DHS says that it will spend the money on various repairs and “environmental” projects along the border rather than extend the wall.
