Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies thinks it’s is a secret agreement between the Biden Administration and the Mexican government of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, made during the administration’s diplomatic mission to Mexico city last month.

Bensman bases his view on reports in the Mexican media on recent steps taken by their country’s government to impede the flow of illegal aliens to the U.S. border. Some of these media outlets admit that this policy is part of a tacit understanding with the U.S. government.

Bensman notes that the Biden Administration would benefit in an election year from the perception that the border crisis is subsiding. If Biden is re-elected, the Mexicans would benefit from not having to deal with the demands of another Trump administration.
