Texas Guardsmen Lay Concertina Wire at Border

About 400 Texas National Guard troops spent Christmas weekend laying nearly three miles of razored concertina wire at one of the state’s most heavily used entry points for illegal migrants.

Early in the morning of Christmas Eve, four C-130 aircraft brought the Guardsmen to El Paso. At 4:00am they began laying the wire, creating by Tuesday a miles-long barrier of three rolls of razor wire stacked one on top of another. More fencing is expected to be erected in coming days.

Also over Christmas, at the eastern end of the Texas-Mexico border, near Brownsville, other NG troops set up fencing there as well.

It is all part of the continuing conflict between Washington and the State of Texas over the administration’s ongoing border fiasco. That fiasco shows no sign of lessening anytime soon, so stay tuned.
