Obama Amnesty Would Cost States Billions

The 25 states challenging Obama’s amnesty in court submitted more then 1,100 pages of documents detailing the costs the amnesty would impose on states. Texas officials said they would have to hire more than 100 new employees to process hundreds of thousands of driver’s license applications, at a cost to taxpayers of $130 per applicant.

The documents include sworn affidavits from state officials, federal immigration officers and others arguing that the amnesty edict will increase illegal immigration, imposing even bigger burdens on the states.

Oral arguments will be heard by federal district judge Andrew Hanen on Thursday.
