Columnist Michelle Malkin, a long-time advocate of patriotic immigration restriction, has taken a close look at the Trump immigration moratorium. She is not impressed. Malkin states, “This is a cynical betrayal of the burgeoning ‘America First’ movement. It’s all moratorium hat and no cattle.”
With 22 million Americans out of work, the columnist notes, it does little to reduce the numbers of foreign workers with temporary visas. It does restrict permanent residence (green card) applications, but this restriction was already in effect since last month. The moratorium may not last more than 60 days.
