Maine Paying Illegals’ Rent

As we noted here last summer, the state of Maine is seeking to attract 75,000 migrants by 2029. To help pack them in, the state legislature has budgeted nearly $3.5 million to pay two years’ rent for 60 migrant families in Brunswick, Maime. In addition, the state will supply $100,000 to pay legal fees for dozens of the migrants as they apply for asylum status.

Beyond that, the United Way of Mid Coast Maine plans to offer a bus service so every migrant “gets where they need to go.” Locals who want to volunteer for anything from driving migrant buses to building furniture to furnish the new Mainers new digs can apply at that organization’s website. Lots of opportunities are available according to the group’s director: “Help families learn English, take families to their medical appointments, show families around their new surroundings,” that sort of thing.

The important thing is to smile and be nice to the criminals displacing you.
