Long Line of Migrants Seen Crossing Rio Grande

Video from the Rio Grande in Texas has been released depicting a scene on our southern border yesterday, March 11. On the left in the still below is a long line of migrants on the Mexican side of the river waiting to cross. The image on the right shows a raft filled with migrants and paddled by a masked smuggler, landing on the American side. On the video can be heard the voices in Spanish of the smuggler and another man off camera. After the passengers, all of them women and children, have disembarked, the smuggler calls out, “Right now we will bring the rest,” and heads back to the Mexican side. The video was made available by the Trip Wires and Triggers website and has been retweeted numerous times.

With a total of 100,441 illegal migrants apprehended by U.S. officials during February,  long lines such as this are a daily occurrence. Officials estimate at least another 26,000 evaded capture last month; together those figures dwarf even the numbers in February of the invasion year of 2019, when 77,000 were caught and an unknown number escaped into America unimpeded.

The 2019 invasion is back with a vengeance, this time with the White House as a willing co-conspirator. As we face the coming of spring and the year’s most active migration activity, the Biden administration continues to deny the existence of a crisis and to promise “we’ll be able to handle it.”  Apparently to them, “handling it” consists of letting it happen.
