Illegals Arriving by U-Haul and Union Pacific

Illegal migrants, which aside from Chinese viruses and deadly drugs are today our major imports, are being found sneaking into the U.S. in all kinds of ways.

On Monday, June 14, Border Patrol agents in Laredo, Texas, inspecting a large, rental box truck, found 27 migrants crammed into the vehicle’s rear cargo area, where temperatures were around 107 degrees. On June 10, a few days earlier, in the Big Bend sector of Texas, 33 migrants were found locked inside another U-Haul box truck. This being 10:00 in the evening, temperatures were down–to only around 100.

Most of both sets of migrants were transported to local hospitals for government-provided medical care.

Another method of travel currently being favored by migrants and their smugglers is by rail. On a recent weekend, in Uvalde, Texas, Border Patrol agents took into temporary custody more than 180 migrants stashed aboard a train, many of whom were hidden in sealed grain hoppers. And earlier in the month, agents discovered another 52 migrants hidden on a Union Pacific train in Uvalde. In that case, the migrants, a mix of adults and children, were hidden throughout the train, some even in the engine compartment.

The sheer number of illegals pouring over the border these days has stretched the Border Patrol to razor thinness, encouraging the cartels that control human smuggling to use a wide variety of methods to get their cargo into the U.S. Given the uncertainty that they will ever be sent back, even when a method doesn’t work, if they just get across, it still works.
