Illegals Aren’t All Wonderful

The Quote Below—More Misinformation from the Media

“Why isn’t Texas Gov. Greg Abbott asking how an ‘illegal’ immigrant accused of shooting and killing five people, including a child, got an AR-15-style rifle?

“That should be top priority for the governor, who clearly only cares about the legal status of the suspected gunman and the victims of this heinous crime.

“Francisco Oropeza, 38, is the man accused of killing his neighbors over the weekend after he was asked to stop firing rounds in his yard in Cleveland, Texas. Authorities said Oropeza used an AR-15-style rifle in the killing spree.

“Abbott is going all-out to catch the guy, offering a $50.000 reward and deploying every available resource to the manhunt — as he should. Additional money from other law enforcement agencies has added to the reward.

“But what seems to matter most to the governor is not the loss of human lives but rather labeling the gunman and the victims as “illegal immigrants.” He noted as much in a tweet and a news release about the reward.

“Abbott doesn’t waste any opportunity to capitalize on the anti-immigrant sentiment — and this time is no exception.”—Gov. Greg Abbott Makes Texas Mass Shooting about Immigration. That’s Despicable, Elvia Diaz, USA Today, 5/2/23 [Link]

Fact Check of Above Quote: Illegal alien advocates take great offense when anyone suggests that illegals are anything less than wonderful. To hear them tell it, illegal aliens are sweet, kind, hard-working, and brimming over with family values. When all is said and done, they do us a favor by coming here. And—as their supporters would have us believe— they’re not even really illegal. They’re just “undocumented.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott incurred the wrath of alien advocate Elvia Diaz by daring to notice that multiple murder suspect Francisco Oropeza is an illegal alien. That’s not the sweet and kind stereotype she would prefer. Actually, Abbott in his statement on the case didn’t make a big deal about his immigration status, the main emphasis was bringing him to justice. Even Diaz sort of concedes this point, amid her rant against Abbott.

The sanctification of illegal aliens prevents consideration of some important questions, most notably into the negative effects of illegal immigration. The reality is that it is not a victimless crime. Illegal aliens act as sinners rather than saints by undermining our rule of law and causing numerous problems for average citizens. Some illegals, like Oropeza, who is now in custody, are an palpable menace..

According to reports, Oropeza’s house had a shrine devoted to Santa Muerte, a religious cult with a large following among organized crime members. Could he be one of them? If so, that would explain why he would have easy access to weapons. Something else that came to light is that U.S. authorities had apprehended and deported him at least four times.

Why was Oropeza able to outmaneuver our border enforcement to this extent? Without a doubt it has something—if not a lot—to do with the fact that our border is significantly out of control. For this we can thank the illegal alien advocates who strive mightily to make sure that we don’t enforce the immigration laws on our books. The purpose of those laws, which we citizens enact through our elected representatives, is to select the kind of immigrants we want. When the system breaks down, citizens lose their say-so, and foreigners like of Oropeza can select themselves for entry.
