In spite of absurd claims by DHS Secretary Mayorkas and other administration officials that “the border is not open,” the border IS open and the evidence is clear on the streets of American towns and cities along the border. Randy Clark of Breitbart News posted a report and video yesterday from El Paso, making that fact abundantly clear.
Clark visited the Texas city this week and counted more than a thousand illegal migrants camped on the sidewalks in a single area surrounding the Sacred Heart Church in the downtown. The migrants he spoke to–from Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti–said they had been living on the streets up to nine days after having been released by an overwhelmed Border Patrol.
With temperatures in the downtown approaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the migrants, unable to bathe for days, sought relief from the heat by fashioning shades made of Red Cross blankets, bed sheets, and cardboard. Clark reports that other cities, such as Brownsville, are experiencing similar problems with penniless migrants encamped on their streets.
These cities are seeing huge surges of illegal migrant crossings leading up to the anticipated expiration of Title 42 on May 11. Authorities encountered more than 41,000 migrants last month, making the sector the busiest crossing point along the border. Most were released, and those without money or other resources simply ended up on the streets of the towns and cities where they were processed.
The administration’s “solution” to the crisis is simply the Big Lie. Contrary to what your eyes tell you, Mayorkas and Biden continue to insist that none of this is happening. Nothing to see here.
