DOJ Sues Companies

The Department of Justice has reached a settlement agreement with a Maryland company for discriminating against American workers. It was violating the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by hiring foreign workers with H-2B visas instead of qualified Americans. “Since the Initiative’s inception,” a DOJ release notes, “employers have agreed to pay or have distributed a combined total of more than $1.2 million in back pay to affected U.S. workers and civil penalties to the United States.”
