Border Control Limits Virus

Columnist Ilana Mercer affirms that countries that quickly sealed their borders have suffered less from the coronavirus than countries that did not. She notes that “Russia . . . sealed its borders with China as hermetically as possible, late in January. Matters are fluid, but at this writing, one source says Russia has only 147 cases of coronavirus and no deaths.”

Mercer strongly criticizes the ideology of globalism for discouraging counties from acting promptly to contain the virus. She observes that “The open-border fetish is turning into a symbol of death, not freedom. For the correlation between borderless countries and infection rates seems unmistakable.”
