A report by the analyst company Forrester confirms other forecasts that the coronavirus crisis will accelerate the movement of companies to replace workers with automation. Citing this report, a blogger at Forbes notes that “many companies are set to invest more in automation than in rehiring in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. . . .” The growing shift to automation is making it much more difficult for immigration advocates to claim that the United States is facing a labor shortage.
