Biden Prepares for Surge: Welcome Baskets for All?

Axios is reporting that sources within the Biden administration are preparing for a massive influx migrants on our southern border if Title 42 is ended, perhaps as early as next month. Axios estimates that that “massive influx” would amount to maybe 170,000, but as we reported here just this week, the February number of encounters was already near that level, at 164,973. And of those, only a little more than half–91,513–were expelled by dint of Title 42; the remainder were admitted.

So, if U.S. officials are paying attention at all, they know that the influx is apt to be well beyond 170,000. As confirmation of what is anticipated to be a “mass migration event,” Axios says the government has created the Southwest Border Coordination Center (SBCC), a “war room” to coordinate the response. In addition, DHS has put out a call for volunteers from various agencies (if they can be spared from Ukraine duty) to join the so-called DHS Volunteer Force to try to manage the surge.

Make no mistake, this frenzy of preparation is not to prevent entry of illegal migrants into the United States. It is to process their admission into our country, with little chance that very many will ever be required to leave. As a source told Fox News: “We are limiting agents in the field just to have more processing.” [Emphasis added.]

We have little doubt that that “processing” will consist of bestowing upon every illegal a basket of goodies containing plane and bus tickets to Anywhere, U.S.A., and a signed welcome letter from the demented Big Guy himself.
