In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL) defended her proposed legislation to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Carlson asked why she would support a measure weakening U.S. border security while supporting measures to uphold Ukraine’s border–even at the risk of a nuclear war.
In a previous interview, Salazar stated “I’m a brown girl from the hood. I can do this [amnesty] because I do know my people and what they want, and what my people want is dignity.” Evidently, her concern doesn’t extend to people who aren’t “brown.” She didn’t explain why people who break our laws merit “dignity.”
