Yuma Sector Sizzles with Illegals

Temperatures around Yuma, Arizona, are expected to be in the 100s this first week of summer and for the foreseeable. On Friday, they reached 117. These deadly conditions in the past have kept the Yuma border sector relatively quiet as far as illegal migration is concerned.

Not so, this year. Since Friday, the Border Patrol has apprehended four groups totaling 300 migrants in the sector. On Monday, 86 were arrested crossing the desert there. Since January, agents have apprehended 97 groups of migrants numbering 50 or more.

These numbers constitute a major upsurge in illegal border crossings in the sector, an upsurge in fact of a nearly unbelievable 800 percent–from 5,647 migrants in 2020 to 47,358 so far this year.

In cities, towns, and deserts, all across our southern border,  they come, continually, without letup–322,940 apprehended borderwide since October and an estimated 250,000 getting through without notice. An invasion unparalleled and largely unopposed.
