The Washington Post published an article about Wyoming taking Afghan refugees. Wyoming is the only state that doesn’t have government-funded “charities” resettling refugees in its cities.
The article begins by stating: “Whether that will happen, or even be possible, in this deeply conservative Western state remains in question. Wyoming, overwhelmingly White and Christian, has never formally welcomed refugees.”
That seems to be a problem for the writer of the piece because she spends the rest of it quoting people in the state who favor resettlement. One declares that “Refugees can be contributing members of our community and help with diversification.”
