Following the lead of President Trump’s stand against sanctuary cities, political leaders in several states are considering legal action against municipalities within their boundaries that have sanctuary policies. A sanctuary city is one that refuses to cooperate with federal immigration law enforcement to remove illegal aliens. The states are Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Maine, and Alaska.
