On Saturday, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) predicted that, if Obama issues a mass amnesty edict for millions of illegals, there will be immediate calls for his impeachment. King called illegal immigration “a virus eating away at the rule of law” and denounced Obama’s lawlessness that is “erasing our border.” King said he would support impeachment hearings in the House if Obama issues a mass amnesty edict.
Noting that the Founding Fathers created the impeachment procedure to deal with serious dereliction of duty such as a President refusing to obey his oath of office to execute the laws, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin recently called for his impeachment if he goes forward with his anticipated amnesty edict.
A recent poll found about one-third of Americans, and a majority of Republicans, want Obama impeached.
