Red Cross Assisting Illegal Migrants with Maps and Guides

The American Red Cross is actively assisting illegal migrants as they make their way northward through South and Central America and Mexico to the U.S. border.

An exclusive report by Jennie Taer, Investigative Reporter for the Daily Caller, is displaying a map showing migrant routes and an illustrated poster providing assistance to illegals making the journey. The materials are part of a packet emblazoned with the American Red Cross logo.

The American Red Cross (along with the United Way Worldwide, Catholic Charities USA, The Salvation Army, the National Council of the Churches of Christ, and the Jewish Federations of North America) sits on the board of FEMA’s Food and Shelter Program. That program just received a government grant of $350 million to assist migrants making their way illegally into the United States. Part of that assistance is the production of these packets.

The information poster gives tips to migrants on such topics as how to safely cadge rides on trains, how to dress appropriately for desert conditions, and how to deal with injuries. One panel advises migrants to bring contraceptives for the journey.

Contacted by the Daily Caller, the International Red Cross said it “does not prevent nor does it encourage migration.” The materials are provided only in the interest of safety, they insisted.

Discussing the packets, Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb told Fox News that, instead of telling the migrants how to make the trip, “the message the American Red Cross should send instead is: ‘Do not cross.’ We can’t keep making it easy for them.”
