A federal judge has overturned the Biden Administration’s use of “parole” to permit large numbers of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. legally. Under legislation passed by Congress, parole was authorized only to admit foreigners on a limited case-by-case basis.
The ruling, by Judge T. Kent Wetherell, stemmed a lawsuit against Biden’s parole policy brought by the state of Florida. In his opinion, Wetherell maintained that this use of parole has “effectively turned the Southwest Border into a meaningless line in the sand and little more than a speedbump for aliens flooding into the country.” The administration may appeal the ruling.
