In a comment evidently directed a Donald Trump, Pope Francis stated that “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not of building bridges, is not Christian.” The pope made no mention of building bridges of understanding to Americans who view an uncontrolled border as a threat to their nation’s sovereignty. The Bible states that God divided the nations and set boundaries among them. (Deut. 32:8) (Acts 17:26) Trump called the pope statement “disgraceful.”
