Only 36 Miles of Border Has Effective Double Fencing

Despite a nine-year-old law mandating construction of 700 miles of double-layer fencing along the U.S.-Mexican border, the Obama Department of Homeland Security admits only 36 miles of double-fence has been erected.  1,300 miles — 66% — of the border has no fence at all.

This information came in response to questions from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a member of the Judiciary Committee.
