Florida Gov. DeSantis denounced the Biden Administration’s lax stance against illegal immigration. In a letter to the Secretary of Homeland Security, DeSantis declared that illegal immigration “consumes taxpayer money and burdens governmental services.” A study by the Center for Immigration Studies found that the nearly 800,000 illegal aliens who lived in the state in 2019 cost Florida taxpayers $2 billion.
