Got-Away Migrants Number at Least 1.2 Million under Biden

Yesterday, we reported on the record 251,000 illegal migrants “encountered” at the border in the month of December alone. That quarter-million join the 3.6 million or so migrants thus encountered since Joe Biden took office, more than 2 million in 2022.

Behind these astronomical numbers lurks a number that is even more shocking–and more dangerous. That is the number of illegal border crossers not encountered, the ones who “get away” without being identified, vetted, questioned, or given an immigration court date. Those got-aways simply disappear somewhere in America.

By its very nature, the number of got-aways is unknown and unknowable, yet estimates–almost always understated–can be made. The current estimate of those who have gotten away since Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, according to CBP agents, is “at least 1.2 million.

Got-aways, like those migrants that are encountered, come from countries all over the world, many of them state sponsors of terrorism. Given the overall welcoming posture assumed by the Biden administration, most migrants without criminal records or the intent to commit crime or terrorist activities, have nothing to fear from being apprehended. Those who do have such intentions often take extra precautions to avoid arrest and therefore are more likely to fill the ranks of the got away. Thereafter they will not be heard from unless or until they come to the attention of domestic law enforcement. They are a wild card in our losing game of illegal migration.
