U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reports that the Border Patrol had 251,000 encounters will illegal aliens in December, the highest monthly total ever recorded. This was particularly remarkable, notes Andrew Arthur at the Center for Immigration Studies, because December is “a month illegal entries should be nearing yearly lows.”
As we recently reported, the Biden Administration hopes to do damage control on the rising numbers at the border by redefining many of them as not being illegal entries. The plan is to rebrand them as “parolees” who will have the legal right to enter the U.S.
