Denver, Colorado, has decided that it must make some sacrifices to accommodate its bourgeoning illegal alien population. As a sanctuary city, it welcomes them by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration law enforcement.
Last year, that city was the top per capita destination for arriving illegal migrants. An estimated total of 710,000 of them currently reside in the city. To provide programs and services for this population, Denver officials recently announced a budget of $89.9 million.
Providing that amount will requite cutbacks in other areas. One of these sacrifices for illegal aliens is a reduction of $8.4 million for the city’s police department. Another is a $2.5 million reduction for the fire department.
