On his Fox News program last night, Tucker Carlson asked, How many illegal aliens are in this country?
The stock answer is “11 million.” No more, no less. Ever.
Wrong, says Carlson. That number has been around, unchanged and endlessly repeated, for at least 15 years. Here’s the Pew Research Center website in 2005:
The magical number of 11 million has entered the canon of political cant. Up to now, virtually no one in power, Democrat or Republican, has ever paused to doubt it. How can that be? asks Carlson. And given that that number is wrong, how many illegals are there, really?
Carlson explains how the number was originally arrived at. (It’s essentially based on what percentage of the foreign-born the Census Bureau assumes is willing to tell them the truth.) As to the real question of exactly how many, Carlson cites a 2018 Yale/MIT study, using different methodology, that estimated a 95 percent probability that the real number is “16 million to 29 million, with 22.1 million as the mean.” [Emphasis added.]
Carlson concludes:
In other words, the estimates that we’ve been relying on for decades could possibly — in fact, may likely — be off by more than 18 million people. There could easily be 30 million (or more) illegal immigrants living in this country. So how would amnesty for that many people affect our “democracy”? In effect, it would end our democracy.
And so it would. Electorally, it would “dilute the votes of long-time citizens to the point of irrelevance.” And, again in his words, “it would ensure permanent rule by the Democratic Party, which is the point.”

I would say closer to 40 million. I see complete towns that never had one illegal. Not that town is 95 percent illegal. Also they get many government grants we do not get. This is why the dems have kept the count low for many years. Calif is almost Mexican controlled. I live in a mobile home park that is 97% illegals. It is now a Park that protects them and the Government funds them 90% of there living cost, cars I cannot afford. Free hospital, on SSI, SSS. The Dems are making sure they vote. They have different names and ssi numbers so it does not show they are illegals. Now you see where they have used our Social Security and Medicare are broke. We are even taxed for there care. Are tax we pay has a common name that is used for their care. Sorry we have been used by the Democrat Communist Party for years. Touch to say about this matter.
