Big Blue City Mayors Beg for Money

On Thursday, the mayors of New York City, Chicago, Denver, Houston, and Los Angeles met with administration officials in Washington to beg for money to help them meet the respective crises in their cities caused by the massive influx of illegal migrants.

The coalition, led by Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson, asked for $5 billion extra to meet the challenge. This is far more than the $1.4 billion Biden had requested from Congress but far less than the $12 billion New York City Mayor Eric Addams says his city will need within the next three years. New York says it has already spent $1.7 billion, while Chicago has spent $320 million and Denver is spending $2 million a week to house and care for their  illegal international newcomers.

This incredible waste of taxpayer funds in a time of rampant inflation (whether the White House admits or not) is completely self-inflicted damage, yet America — whose leaders have evidently gone insane — seems dead set on self-destruction.
