Archbishop: Americans Must Share Abundance

The Catholic Archbishop of Washington, D.C., Cardinal Wilton Gregory, held a press conference last week, during which he urged Congress to pass an amnesty for all illegal aliens living in the United States.

“[E]very person has the right to live in his or her own homeland in security and dignity,” he said, but “when loss of work forces migration, we must welcome them, protect them and share our abundance with them.”

Gregory’s sentiments were shared by Bishop Mario E. Dorsonville, native Colombian and auxiliary bishop of Washington, who issued the following statement, in regard to the so-called “Dreamers”:

My brother bishops and I urge the Senate to join the House of Representatives in passing legislation that would provide legal status and a path to citizenship for all Dreamers. In doing so, we recall the words of Pope Francis: “Immigrants, if they are helped to integrate, are a blessing, a source of enrichment and new gift that encourages a society to grow.”

According to Breitbart News, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops “avidly supports mass migration.”
