Governor Greg Abbott told Sean Hannity on Tuesday that he plans to continue sending illegal migrants to northern cities “until the Biden administration does its job to enforce the laws concerning the border.” Moreover, he said Texas is “looking at other cities to send them to.” Then today, August 4, Abbott addressed the annual West Texas Legislative Summitt repeating those statements, saying:
I had a meeting with local community leaders who told me that what they were planning to put illegal immigrants on buses and busing them to San Antonio. I told them I have a better idea: We’re gonna put them on buses to Washington, DC! [Applause] For those who are far away from the Texas border, it’s no big deal. They don’t have to deal with the consequences of the chaos that we’re seeing on the border. And they can sit back and live in their own universe without having to deal with it. Now we have the mayor of Washington, DC, demanding that the President deploy the National Guard to help Washington, DC! They cannot handle the number of people coming in, and all I have is bad news for them, because there are an increasing number of buses leaving every single day, going to Washington, DC, and there may be some other locations on the horizon!
