30 Million Foreigners Working in America

The number of non-citizens working in the United States has reached a new record: almost 30 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. That number increased just last year by 1.8 million, while the number of American-born citizens fell by a half percent. These changes are in line with a trend that is now decades long — and getting worse under the Biden administration. In just a few years under Biden the foreign-born workforce in the U.S. has increased by fully five percent.

Meanwhile, Breitbart News cites Center for Immigration Studies’ research that shows mass unskilled immigration to the U.S. has actually decreased the wages for American workers without college degrees.

The impact of wholesale immigration on the American labor market is not lost on the administration, of course. Providing work for the world’s masses at the expense of native-born Americans is exactly their plan. For example, DHS Secretary Mayorkas said recently:

There are businesses around this country that are desperate for workers, there are … desperate workers in foreign countries that are looking for jobs in the United States, where they can earn money lawfully and send much-needed remittances back home.

In other words, if you’re not a business hungry for cheap labor or a foreigner on the make, you can go hang as far as the Havana-born Alejandro Mayorkas is concerned. That’s what we’ve got.
