What’s Up with All the Chinese?

We’ve touched on this before: “The Chinese Are Coming, the Chinese Are Coming. . .,” October 25, 2023, for example. In Fiscal Year 2023, which ended September 30, a total of 24,125 Chinese migrants were encountered attempting to illegally enter the United States. So far, in the six months since October 1, there have been 22,233 such encounters, virtually guaranteeing a new yearly record of Chinese illegals.

In the San Diego Sector this week, 182 Chinese nationals were apprehended in a single day.

So what’s up with the Sinosurge?

When asked the obvious question, many of the migrants will hand you the usual line about “just wanting a better life.” One migrant told Fox News last month:

My English is not very good, and I don’t know anyone in the United States. Once I get to the United States, I know I have to start all over again. But I want to live a good life in the future, and I want my children to be educated well. I strive to take root in the United States as soon as possible.

Not everyone is convinced that that’s the whole story with the Chinese masses, many of whom are single males of military age. Last week, one was detained in California after entering the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base without authorization and refusing to leave.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) said last year.”There have been numerous documented instances of Chinese nationals, at the direction of the CCP, engaging in espionage, stealing military and economic secrets.

For whatever reason, they keep coming. And for whatever reason, Joe Biden keeps letting them in.
