A Harvard Center for American Political Studies/Harris Poll found strong public support for two key provisions of President Trump’s immigration agenda: 1) Requiring that legal immigrants do not become “public charges,” i.e. dependent on public assistance. 2) Suing sanctuary cities for crimes committed by illegal aliens.
The poll also found overwhelming support for the idea of an “immigration halt” if the coronavirus epidemic grows significantly worse. Another finding was strong opposition to the idea of states giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.
