Obama’s new head of Customs and Border Protection, Gil Kerlikowske, admitted to a House subcommittee on Wednesday that the administration’s lenient policies on deportations and its “DREAM” edict for illegal minors encourage more minors to illegally enter across the Mexican border. He testified that the agency’s “facilities are not designed to hold these large numbers…” and the border patrol agents could not spend their time babysitting foreign children.
The number of alien minors has surged from around 6,000 in fiscal 2011 to an estimate by officials that around 60,000 will enter in fiscal 2014. With some leading GOP lawmakers supporting amnesty for illegal alien minors, and Obama said to be considering even broader amnesty edicts to placate ethnic pressure groups angry over the failure of Obama to push mass amnesty legislation through Congress, the rush across the border seems almost certain to grow.
