NYC Migrants Fed Well; Kids, Not So Much

Those 500 adult male illegal migrants being housed free of charge on New York City’s Randall’s Island will be fed well. City officials are reporting that the migrants, mostly from Venezuela, will receive “culturally appropriate” South American food.

Meanwhile, hunger is rampant among NYC’s children. In May, the New York Daily News published an article titled “25% of NYC children don’t know where their next meal will come from.”

Fortunately for the migrants, they do know. What’s more, in addition to the promised three squares a day, the new Randall’s Islanders will have available “around-the-clock snacks, coffee, and tea as well as Xbox game consoles, televisions, couches, popcorn makers, foosball tables, board games, phones for international calls, and free WiFi.” The New York Post speculated in August that the city’s care and feeding of migrants could cost more than $300 million a year.
