In 2010 only one in 100 illegal aliens apprehended at the border claimed asylum. Now the word is out that making this claim fraudulently is a way to gain a foothold in the U.S. Currently, almost one in ten apprehended illegals are claiming asylum. Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan observed that “We know that [friends, family, and smugglers] are coaching individuals on specifically on what to say when they come here . . . the magic words they need to say to claim [asylum].”
