During the brief tenure of Joe Biden so far, nearly two million illegal migrants–responding to his widely publicized invitation–have been encountered at our southern border, most of whom were simply turned over by smuggling cartels to U.S. officials. About half of those illegals have been allowed to stay, often put aboard secretive, late-night flights into America’s heartland. The Biden administration has thus allowed its own officials to become nothing less than the final stage of a vast human smuggling system that often originates thousands of miles away in South America or even Asia or Africa.
Thus has Joe Biden become Smuggler-in-Chief.
As Fox News’ Jesse Watters said Friday night on his Primetime program:
Joe Biden’s running a human smuggling operation. The cartels hand [migrants] to Biden at the border, and then Biden puts them in busses and planes and then just sprinkles them all over the country. It’s happening right in front of our own eyes.
And what happens when human smuggling, which by definition involves voluntary transportation, devolves into human trafficking, the involuntary kind? To help answer that, Reuters issued a report yesterday titled “Teen risked all to flee Guatemala. Her payoff: grueling job in U.S. chicken plant.” In it, they document how in February the family of Amelia, a 16-year-old girl from Guatemala, paid $10,000 to a cartel to deliver her to Border Patrol officials in Arizona. From there, she was released to a sister in Alabama, also an illegal resident. The teenager was soon employed in the same chicken processing plant her sister works, both under fake documentation.
Chicken processing plants are among the dirtiest and most dangerous places for anyone to work, much less 16-year-olds, and the industry is among the most egregious in employing illegal aliens of all ages. Amelia is paid $10 an hour, a paltry amount that is still twice the average daily wage in Guatemala. She has to wire most of that money back home, to pay her parents’ loan sharks, who charge 10% interest per month.
From Central America to a chicken plant in Alabama, our government is participating in a human trafficking pipeline that had largely been shut down by the Trump administration. When Joe Biden took office, the Trump programs were systematically abolished, however, and the pipeline was deliberately re-opened, pleasing not only Democrats–who look forward to an eventual treasure trove of amnestied new voters–but also short-sighted big business Republicans, who relish all that cheap labor.
The whole corrupt system enriches the cartels, further impoverishes the migrants, depresses Americans’ wages, and gladdens the hearts of power-seeking Dems and profit-lusting Repubs. At its helm is Joe Biden, Smuggler/Trafficker-in-Chief.
