Denver Migrant Mystery Solved?

On Dec. 8, we reported that a busload of about 150 migrants, mostly from Venezuela, arrived in Denver, Colorado, without being sent by any of the usual suspects. Neither Govs. Abbott (Texas), Ducey (Arizona), DeSantis (Florida), or Grisham (New Mexico), or even the City of El Paso owned up to the export.

Eventually, last night on CNN, Mayor Michael Hancock of Denver shared something of a clue, saying:

We are learning from the migrants and asylum-seekers themselves that they organized themselves through social media to come to a destination outside of their normal entry spot — or their entry spot in El Paso, TX and they decided to come to Denver. [Emphasis added.]

So it was the migrants themselves?

Maybe, but then Hancock added:

They also told us that there were some folks on the ground who suggested they come to Denver. [Emphasis added.]

“Some folks on the ground?” Hancock did not suggest who those folks might be, so the mystery continues.

And so does the inbound migration. Mayor Hancock said that more than 472 illegal migrants had arrived during the previous six days, enough to “stress our systems and really stress our financial condition in the city of Denver.” The influx, which would probably seem a unbelievable lull to overwhelmed El Paso, has been sufficient to compel the mayor to declare an official emergency, forcing three recreation centers ordinarily used by Denver citizens to be closed and re-opened as shelters for migrants.

Denver, like so many Democrat-led cities, has bragged incessantly of its sanctuary status. It is now enjoying the fruits of its sanctimony. As long as this invasion continues, may others be blessed with similar riches.
