CIS Creates Sanctuary Map

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has created a map of "sanctuary" states, counties, and cities that shield illegal aliens from immigration law enforcement. CIS notes that "Across the U.S., there are 340 cities, counties, and states that . . . protect criminal aliens from deportation by refusing to comply with ICE detainers or otherwise impede open communication and information exchanges between their employees or officers and federal immigration agents."

Senators Offer Bill to Protect U.S. Workers

Its purpose is to reform the H-1B visa program so that employers won't be able to abuse it by hiring foreign workers instead of qualified Americans. Said Cruz: “The American Jobs First Act of 2015 is a necessary effort to repair the H-1B visa program to prevent it from displacing American workers. This legislation aligns the program with its original intent, does more to prevent employers from using the program to replace hard-working American men and women with cheaper foreign labor, and helps to create greater transparency of job needs and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, so that unemployed Americans with the necessary skills can apply for these jobs.

Michael McCaul (R-TX), the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC stated that it had “individuals with ties to terrorist groups in Syria attempting to gain entry to the U.S. through the U.S. refugee program.” The letter added, “The refugee system, like all immigration programs, is vulnerable to exploitation from extremist groups seeking to send operatives to the West.” McCaul heads the House Homeland Security Committee.

Massacre Shooter Screened for Terrorism

Authorities have identified Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik as the perpetrators of the San Bernardino massacre. Farook, the son of immigrants, was a U.S. citizen. Makik was an immigrant from Pakistan. The State Department confirmed that Malik came here on a K-1 visa which requires counterterrorism screening. According to reports, she had a post on Facebook pledging allegiance to the leader of ISIS, the Muslim terrorist movement. The Obama Administration maintains that the U.S. authorities are able to screen out terrorists from people seeking to enter the U.S. from Muslim countries.
