In an interview with Fox News, Arizona rancher Jim Chilton says Mexican drug cartel members are entering his property. He says they are trying to secure smuggling routes into the United States. He added that “We have cartel scouts on our mountains. [They] really have control of everything.”
For quite some time, the cartels have operated on both sides of the border. In effect they have taken control of American territory. The cartels are well-organized governing entities with sophisticated military forces, In some instances they have clashed with the Mexican military–and won.
Thus, it is not an exaggeration to describe the activities of the cartels in our country as a foreign assault, or even an invasion. This is all the more true because those activities harm us, specifically with the flow of illegal aliens and drugs into the U.S.
The proper response to foreign entities occupying our territory is the deployment of troops to evict them. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration doesn’t seem interested in this option.
