54 Migrants Killed in Southern Mexico Crash

An overloaded tractor-trailer rig overturned at high speed in southern Mexico on Thursday, breaking open and spilling out more than 100 illegal migrants, killing at least 54. The dead, most of whom were from Central America, join the ranks of hundreds more migrants that have died this year while attempting to reach the United States in response to the Joe Biden welcome mat.

Hitching rides on trucks, invariably overloaded, has become a favorite means of travel for migrants in Mexico. Last month, officials found 652 people found hidden in the back of two trucks in eastern Mexico. In October, 334 migrants were rescued from a single truck in Cosamaloapan in the state of Veracruz.

Meanwhile, the death toll up and down the migrants’ route is up. The Darien Gap in Panama has seen a record number of deaths this year, and even for those illegals who actually reach the U.S., the year has witnessed at least 650 deaths in the desert. In Fiscal Year 2021, the Border Patrol perfomed a record number of rescues–12,854–far surpassing its previous 2019 record of 5335.

This is the deadly result of tossing off campaign slogans to asylum seekers, who tend to believe any attractive lie that comes their way. Here’s a group of Biden hopefuls, crossing the border while decked out in Democrat finery back in March.
