Trump Separates GOP Sheep From Goats

If the GOP establishment and the liberal media hoped to avoid real debate on America’s immigration crisis, Donald Trump’s comments on illegal aliens and crime have put an end to that vain dream.  Instead of backing down and saying he had ‘misspoke’ like a normal politician, the brash billionaire doubled-down and pointed to the murder last week in San Francisco of an innocent American woman by an illegal alien criminal who was set free despite seven previous felony convictions and five deportations.

On Saturday, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Mr. Trump “doesn’t represent the Republican Party or its values.”  Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry agreed, saying:”I will stand up and say those [comments] were offensive, which they were.”

Two other GOP presidential hopefuls refused to join big business, the media, Bush and Perry in attacking Trump for his remarks.  Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said that liberal journalists were trying to stifle discussion of immigration.  “I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need to address illegal immigration,’ he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.  Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania said:”While I don’t like the verbiage he’s used, I like the fact that he is focused on a very important issue…’
