On Wednesday night 31-year-old Kathryn Seinle was shot dead as she posed for pictures with her father at the popular Pier 14 tourist attraction in San Francisco. “Dad, help me, help me,” were her last words. But her father’s CPR efforts could not save her.
Who killed Kathryn? Police have charged Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, 52, a Mexican illegal with seven prior felony convictions and five prior deportations with the murder. Lopez-Sanchez has admitted to the random killing.
The killer was in federal prison when he was transferred on March 26, 2015 to San Francisco County Jail on a drug charge. At that time an ICE detainer had been issued on him (but it was known that it was official San Francisco policy not to honor ICE detainers). On March 27, the state Superior Court dismissed the local charges, the ICE detainer was refused, and Lopez-Sanchez walked free. Two and a half months later Kathryn died in her father’s arms.
So who really killed Kathryn? The dangerous foreign criminal — or the politicians who let him run free in our country?
