States Sue Against Parole Policy

Twenty-one states led by Texas have filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s policy of using the parole statute to admit 30,000 migrants from four countries each month under the guise that they have legitimate claims to asylum. The countries are Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

The suit charges that this blanket granting of parole is essentially a means to facilitate illegal immigration. Parole, the lawsuit notes, is supposed to be granted “only on a case-by-case basis for significant public benefit or urgent humanitarian reasons.”
