Jeff Session (R-AL) affirmed that current levels of legal and illegal immigration are harming the U.S. Said Sessions, “At this point in time our economy cannot sustain the current lawful rate of immigration, much less the legal flow. It’s time to listen to the voice of the good and decent Americans who want some to protect their interests, for a change. It’s time to abandon the old thinking and ask what is the proper rate for immigration . . . one that will protect the economic well-being of immigrants and [the] native-born. . . .”
